Ozzy Osbourne is jumping into the NFT space with a creative and compelling project, promising a fun utility and a decidedly appropriate mascot: bats.
Ozzy Osbourne. You might think he’s old. Finished. Gone batty. Well, you might be right about his age, but he’s far from finished. And he’s DEFINITELY going batty, partnering with Sutter Systems as the creative director of an exciting new NFT project called CryptoBatz. This project is unique in a couple ways: it’s tied to the Prince of Darkness himself and bears resemblance to his timeless style, it’s got a unique utility with its “biting” function, and it has a roadmap of surprises planned for the future.
The art of CryptoBatz is not haphazard or random. It’s been composed and designed with input from Ozzy himself, with several notable traits. From a style perspective, these tokens possess a digitized, almost Gameboy-esque pixelated feel common to many crypto projects which is reminiscent of the granddaddy of NFT projects Crytopunks. This is a style that the crypto community adores and is familiar with and each bat is its own unique creation with different traits.
The Batz are composed by following the Fibonacci sequence: an eye-pleasing ratio of composition that is also known as the “Golden Ratio”. This means that the art side of this project is dark, yet beautiful. Elements of composure such as these make this NFT a true work of art, in the dark, sinister, and rebellious style of Ozzy Osbourne. In addition to the art, the team behind the project has some exciting plans for the experience associated with owning it.
A lot of celebrities are cashing in on the NFT hype, rolling off cute collections that tend to fizzle and die out after the hype tapers off. That’s cool if you’re a die-hard fan of that celebrity, but not cool if you’re a crypto fan hoping for some kind of utility other than simply collectability and a cool ownership experience.
CryptoBatz are made, by design, for the avid crypto collector and Sutter Systems has plans to make them an experience just as much as they are an art piece. Each of the 9,666 CryptoBatz (did you expect there not to be a 666 in a project composed by the Prince of Darkness?) comes with the ability to “bite” another “blue chip” NFT only ONE time, producing a unique Mutant Bat NFT for the holder. The list of compatible blue chip NFTs that a CryptoBat can feast upon includes the BAYC, Cryptoads, Supducks, Alien Frens, and Cyberkongz.
In addition to this fun NFT on NFT utility, CryptoBatz promises a haunting version 2 known as Ancient Bats: a new line that looks like they’re going to be quite the adventure to find. Hidden in QR codes around the real world, these bats will be able to be claimed by verifying a wallet that contains a Crypto Bat. These are each created by different renowned artists in the world and as such are a unique piece of rare art. In addition to their rarity, these bats have the ability to bite 99 times, making them capable of producing 99 mutant bats. The quest for the Ancient Bats begins soon.
Ozzy Ozbourne and the crew at Sutter Systems are truly creating a unique NFT community and experience through CryptoBatz. By utilizing Ozzy’s reputation and composition genius, this project has killer potential. A look inside the Discord reveals over 78k members, and there’s almost always someone actively answering questions and creating a positive community vibe. Who would have thought that a celebrity NFT project could have so much promise?
